We finally got a reply back from Joel from Userplane regarding some of the chat room issues we have been having.
He said there is a glitch in the Userplane system, along with several other issues, and he is checking with development to see how long it will take to be resolved and will get back to us as soon as possible with an estimated date of when it will be fixed.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon!

I keep getting booted with that dreaded "site advisor virus scan, every 5 minutes. I capped it and sent it to userplane. It's probably part of the gliiiiiiichhhhh

I heard that's how that Configure Worm manifests. This could be pretty bad. So far, I'm not infected. Be very careful!!

That "site advisor" is the same thing that was happening with that scanner a few months ago. I have been told it is not a virus and just to press alt control delete and delete it from your task manager. Works for me, and I did a complete scan and have no issues. They are trying to sell something but it does look scary.

Not sure if that Conficker thing works that way Mama, but hubby got it on his work computer and it came in through an email that looked to be from a friend of his. It was from the friend's email and everything, but it had a link in it to some pictures and when he clicked on the link it took over his computer. It took the computer guy at his company forever to figure it out and fix it. Luckily he was able to fix it. When my husband saw the story on 60 min he was like "OMG that is what I had on my computer!"

So I dont think this is the same thing, I think the chat room stuff is more likely just annoying ads. But one thing is for sure, they are very annoying!

There was a blurb on our local tv station a couple of days ago. It seems as though those Configur peeps are now using this as a tactic. They have put in a virus scan that you cannot stop. This is very new. I thought maybe it was a panic thing on the part of reporters,and that scan thing was the same as before. Now I'm not sure. The report seemed pretty sure it is now Configur. I know that the one we had in the chat room a few months back is different. These could be two different things.

It hit some of our computers at work today. I'm not sure of anything anymore. All I know is that I can still get into security sites, so I'm good.
